The first two lessons I do with my new classes: 'Introducing Patrick-sensei' and 'Speed Interview'.

Introducing Patrick-sensei features a simple information gap activity for groups of six, in which students ask each other questions about little ol' me, and come up with responses based on picture clues. The materials for this lesson are extremely Patrick-laden, but easy to adapt, and I've included a blank template for you to do so.

(Alternatively you can use the materials as they are, and make it a lesson about your good friend/made-up character Patrick-sensei.)

Speed Interview is my own variation on a common classroom game where students line up in front of the teachers and choose a question they want to be asked. I've made my version a little more game-like and challenging, though the students are able to choose their own level of challenge. Speed Interview is a of fun; I recommend it. (I even made a handy instruction sheet, and included a blank template if you want to rewrite the questions.)

You can have a better look at the Introducing Patrick-sensei materials here; Speed Interview, here.

The handy, ready-to-print PDF is 'pay what you want'; in other words, free to try, so download it and give it a look!
